Review

Story Vishwak (Raja) is an orphan who is adapted by his school teacher. Later Vishwak becomes independent and takes care of himself. During this process, Vishwak becomes manipulative guy in order to succeed life. During his childhood, he happens to meet an NRI kid called Swetha who joins his school for a few days. They develop a close friendship. They happen to meet again after they grow up. The rest of the story is all about whether they fall in love or not. Artists Performance Raja is looking very handsome in this film. He suited the role very well and got into the skin of the character. Genelia is cool as usual. Her performance is excellent when she invites Sonu Sood to her house. She gave a matured performance in the climax of the film. But her make-up and hair style should have been better. Sonu Sood did a guest role and he is adequate. MS Narayana and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam provided comic relief. Suman, Hema and Tanikella Bharani are good.       Analysis: The film starts with an interesting note. The kids episode is impressive. First half is decent. The second half has some dull moments, but the climax twist makes it up for sagging second half. The plus points of the film are casting, narrative style and clean concept. On the flipside, the second half should have been in a more interesting way. The way Raja is taught about relationships is good. Neelakanta should be appreciated for having guts to insert the ‘HR SWOT’ episode in the film which lasts for over 15 minutes. On a whole, Mr. Medhavi is a well intended and a decent film. This film will definitely appeal the ultra A class audiences. The commercial appeal for an average moviegoer is very much limited.

happy days success meet

The success meet of Happy Days film was held at Durgam Cheruvu on the night of 4 October. This function is attended by the entire cast and crewmembers of Happy Days team. MS Raju, Dil Raju, ML Kumar Chowdary, NV Prasad, Chatrapati Prasad, Sukumar, Srivas, Devi Sri Prasad, Vamsi Paidipally and Tammareddy Bharadwaja also attended this function.

Sekhar Kammula said, “Happy Days is the result of a 9-months hard work. I would like to give the first credit of the film to the new faces who did marvelous job. Vijay C Kumar gave great cinematography. Mickey J Meyer gave extraordinary music. He is a qualified musician. Since the story of the film is spread over four years among four couples, it becomes a challenging task for the editors and Marthand K Venkatesh did a fantastic job. Happy Days is an editor’s film. There are dissolves worth 50 minutes. Junaid of Prime Focus helped me by doing great DI at a lower cost. He said that the films that underwent DI never worked at the box office and Happy Days broke that myth. Yathiraj of Rama Naidu FX also came forward to do FX for a cheap price. Happy Days is a result of fine team work. I watched Happy Days in Devi theater and they gave me standing ovation when my name came up on the screen at the end of the film. I promise you that I would continue making good films. I will retire from film industry once audience reject any of my films.”

Actor Sandesh said, “I am doing my +2 in New Jersey. I saw the casting call on idlebrain.com and applied with my photos and in four days I got selected. It was really amazing. I came to Hyderabad in February. I had gone through the rehearsals for a couple of weeks. I had never met such a simple person like Sekhar Kammula who is down to earth. He instilled lot of confidence in me so that I could do my job better.”

Music director Mickey J Meyer said, “Sekhar Kammula asked me to thing big while composing music and the result is Happy Days. He gave me complete freedom and it helped me a lot. He never came to the recording studio. The script of the film is inspiring. The casting is perfect. It was a thrilling experience viewing Happy Days film in public theaters.”

Dil Raju said, “We do make many successful films, but purposeful films and wonderful films can not be made very often. This film is getting the kind of response Prema Desam, Toli Prema and Arya generated in the past. Happy Days is a roaring success at box office. This film is going to set a new trend. I am going to select the cast of Happy Days for few of my future projects.”

Tammareddy said, “I knew Sekhar Kammula right from the beginning of his career. He always went against the tide and achieved great success. Happy Days reminded me of my college days. Sekhar always makes clean films.”

MS Raju said, “When I saw Hum Aap Ke Hain Koun, it appeared to me like the story is happening in our home. When I watched Happy Days, I felt like the story is happing in the college I studied. I have become a fan of all these new faces. I would like to thank Sekhar Kammula for giving Telugu film industry a new talent. Music of the film is one of the best I have heard in the recent times. I am promising one of my future films to the music director Mickey J Meyer. Happy Days inspired me to come up with more interesting films. Happy Days brought happy days to the film industry.”

Sukumar said, “I can see lot of emotion in the film. I loved the way Sekhar Kammula ended the relationships in the film. I had a layer of water in my eyes throughout the second half.”
